I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you know that my time spent with Nicolas will always bring a smile to my face. He was truly a very special person. I was the Dow team leader for the Finance Data Readiness team that supported the various milestone projects around the world. There were 10 team members and Nicolas brought the 'life' to our team. The nature of the projects brought us together for long periods of time, many times away from home, so we there was lots of time to get to each other. His sense of humor, leadership, kindness, hard work ethic, and dedication to always be a better person/employee, made it a joy to work with him. I was lucky enough to celebrate his 27th and 28th birthdays with him, I brought a cake, we sang happy birthday, took pictures and I could tell he really enjoyed it. In May 2014, I was in Strasbourg for a month, and had to drive a rental car back and forth from Strasbourg to Drusheim every day, my navigational skills are very weak. Nicolas would make sure I followed him back and forth from the hotel so I didn't get lost :) I was in Strasbourg for the U.S. Mother's Day, Nicolas made arrangements to take me to the Klee Winery for a tasting. He drove myself and Julie Deliene through that beautiful Alsace region, went to the wine tasting, then found a charming little family owned restaurant for lunch on return to Strasbourg. I will never forget that day, and how considerate it was of him to make sure I had an enjoyable mother's day when I couldn't be with my own family. I am privileged and honored to have called him my friend.
